Theunis Oosthuizen completed his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Stellenbosch University, where he developed an optimised geospatial model for renewable resource allocation. His research focused on determining the optimal placement and sizing of wind and solar farms to minimise the use of peaking stations and demand response initiatives. He has expertise in power system analysis, renewable energy integration, geospatial modelling, and machine learning. As a Junior Engineer at the Centre, he contributes to energy system planning, grid modelling, and sustainable energy projects.
